The Business Circle of the Szczecin Metropolitan Region is an established German-Polish event format that regularly brings together representatives from business, science, and administration of both neighbouring countries. On 28 January 2025, some 70 guests gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Szczecin to discuss current topics and initiatives in the border region. The main focus this time was on new cross-border projects deploying innovative technological solutions in healthcare.
Project spokesperson Prof. Werner Weitschies and project manager Zuzanna Papierz presented the HEALTH.AI Pomerania project. In addition to the project’s objectives, the already existing AI expertise network based in Greifswald was showcased — a network that HEALTH.AI Pomerania aims to extend across the border to the Polish side of the Euroregion Pomerania. In closing, the project representatives invited attendees to the AI HORIZONS networking conference, which will take place in November 2025 as the project’s central networking event. Alongside HEALTH.AI Pomerania, two further cross-border health projects from Greifswald were presented (TEMICARE 2.0, NaReT), underscoring Greifswald’s growing role as a hub for the development of innovative healthcare solutions in the Baltic Sea region.
A report by the IHK Neubrandenburg from this event was published here.
