Prof. Dr. Michael Jünger

Prof. Jünger is Director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Skin Diseases at Greifswald University Medical Centre. Artificial intelligence contributes to the clinical diagnosis of skin diseases. Currently, the focus is on image analysis of skin changes that are suspicious of tumors. The telemedical platform mskin®, which Jünger has been developing together with InfoKom (Neubrandenburg) since 2008, enables the care of skin patients in GP practices and in hospitals without a dermatology department. KI strengthens the self-management of dermatological patients, e.g. with chronic wounds. In the innovative project General, specialist and emergency medicine in rural areas using the example of dermatology (funding code 01NVF16002), the secure, timely telemedical care of skin patients in the region via mskin® was tested and positively evaluated by patients and GPs (see report inav, Berlin, 2021).
