We process personal data that is collected when you visit our website in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Data Protection Act (DSG M-V).

Legal basis
Insofar as the Greifswald University Club e.V. obtains the consent of the data subject for the collection of personal data (e.g. contact form, newsletter), Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO serves as the legal basis.

When processing personal data that is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary for the performance of pre-contractual measures.

Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which the Greifswald University Club e.V. is subject, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO serves as the legal basis.

If the processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of the Greifswald University Club e.V. and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the first-mentioned interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing.

Protocol
Each time our website is accessed, the following data is stored in log files for data security and statistical purposes:
• IP adress, 
• time of access
UserAgent (used browser and used operating system), 
• accessed page or content elements and 
• if provided, referrer URL (the previously visited page). These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in data processing in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The IP address is not merged with other data sets. The data is stored for a maximum of 7 days, after which it is stored in anonymized form for access statistics. Our website uses the open source software AWStats for access statistics. No personal data is stored in this process. 

Cookies
When you visit our website, so-called “session cookies” are stored on your computer. Cookies are small text files that are used to make the website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Our legitimate interest in data processing pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR also lies in these purposes. They do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. As a rule, session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit to our website. You have the option of deactivating the storage of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your browser. Please note that if you deactivate cookies, you may not be able to use all the functions of our website to their full extent. 

Contact Form
The personal data you submit via the contact form will only be stored for the purpose of responding to your inquiry and will be deleted at the latest once the administrative process has been completed. Your request will be forwarded directly to the responsible board member. Your data will not be passed on to third parties.

The use of these services is not necessary to contact us or to receive our information.

Your Rights
You have the right to revoke your consent to the collection of personal data at any time and without giving reasons in writing to the Greifswald University Club e.V., Dr. Friedrich-Wilhelm Hagemeyer, Wollweberstraße 1, 17489 Greifswald or by e-mail to guc@uni-greifswald.de with effect for the future.

Furthermore, you have the right to request information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, the purpose and duration of data processing. Under certain conditions, you also have the right to rectification, restriction of processing (e.g. blocking), erasure and data portability of your data. You have the right to object to direct marketing and to the processing of your data, which is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e and f DSGVO. If you wish to exercise your right to object to the processing of your personal data, please inform us of the reasons arising from your particular situation so that we can weigh up your interests in accordance with Art. 21 para. 1 sentence 2 DSGVO.

Objection to advertising e-mails
The use of contact data such as postal addresses, telephone and fax numbers as well as e-mail addresses published in the imprint or comparable information by third parties for the transmission of information not expressly requested is not permitted.
