“Man against machine”- Skin cancer screening with AI

Due to rising incidence rates for skin cancer, dermatological screening examinations appear to be useful. Artificial intelligence can provide useful support for clinical examinations in dermatology, including performing preliminary assessments of lesions in the absence of specialist expertise, so that patients can be referred to the few available specialists in a more targeted manner. AI can already be used in the examination of numerous lesions or in the assessment of individual findings.
